I read this in the detroit free press...
Billups -- who landed on the third team this year after making the second team last year -- started 70 games and averaged 17 points and 7.2 assists during the regular season.
Billups, not one to get caught up in the glow of receiving honors, took the news in stride.
"Not that much importance to it," he said. "But it feels good. It definitely feels good to be honored like that."
Wallace was asked about the honor, knowing Billups was within earshot.
"What did he do? Third-team NBA? What did he do?
"Me, Webb, Slash (Jason Maxiell) and Nazr been saving Chauncey ... all year. All the blow-bys! We've been back there taking the fouls, making the blocks, and he's been getting all the credit.
"I'm sick of it. He owes me some dinners or trophies or something."
Billups listened and laughed, then said: "Why would you even ask him?"
Wallace finally admitted that Billups earned the honor.
"Sike," Wallace said. "No, it's a good honor, though."
