A Storms Brewing

I have loved the Pistons since I was born. I mean how can you not? They are the greatest franchise in sports history. I can't believe I didn't start this blog a long time ago, but since there is a lot going on now in the Piston world, I thought this would be as good a time as any to start. To be sure, unlike my main blog, this will be 100 percent basketball related talk and specifically how it relates to the Pistons.

Let's start things off with the possible return of a few Michigan natives. With the recent buy-out of Chris Webber's conract in Philly, there has been a flurry of hope that Webber will choose his hometown as his next and final destination. I am in love with this idea. I have always loved Webber and I pray that his return to Michigan will also be the return of C. Webb (the difference being that the latter was used to describe him when he was 100% healthy and an allstar.) There is a lot of reasons for him to come here and it actually looks like he will. He has said he would like to and it looks a lot more likely than when I hoped his former fab fiver Jalen Rose was a free agent earlier this season. He should announce his decision in a day or so and my fingers will be crossed til then. If he does end up in the D, it will definitely shake up the line up. Nazr is atrocious and he always has been. I am convinced that we cannot win a championship with him as a starting center. That said, I like starting Maxiell and Sheed, with C. Webb coming off the bench for either. Maxiell should get at least 20 mins with the other 2 getting around 30. This will take away some minutes from McD which I hate the thought of, but Dyess just wants to win and will accept a smaller role. The good thing about this would be that Sheed could even move to the 3 spot with Webber at 4 and Maxiell at center. Tall ball. I love the thought of this. Before I go any further I'll wait and see what happens.

Another former Michigander that has been talked about recently is a guy from my alma mater, Morice Peterson. I have always loved Mo Pete and would love to see him as a Piston. Not sure if this will happen. Dumars has talked to Raptors GM Brian Colangelo about the possibility of a trade. Toronto is looking for an athletic young swing guard with a good shot. The only player I can think of is Delfino and I would hate to see him go. I love Del Del and always will no matter what happens. We would also hopefully get rid of the ancient Dale Davis. While it may be helpful to have him get in the game and hack Shaq in the playoffs, we don't really need the Double D. He's too old and slow and can barely pull down a board. I love him but speaking from a purely gm point of view he can go. Anways this is a pretty unliekly trade but who knows.

Not sure what is happening with us lately. There has been a lot of bad losses to bad teams. The Bobcats worked us. Sean May worked us, and while I like him, he should not be owning us. We need to find our groove still and hopefully it happens soon so we aren't still trying to figure things out after the allstar break. Speaking of the All Star game, you should all go vote for the Pistons everday. Please vote for them, I want to see them back there so bad. It would be great if Tay Tay got to go this year, he is playing so well and all his numbers are up. Hopefully the coaches realize this and pick him. I hope we have the best record in the East so Flip can coach.

Alright well, that's enough chat for the first blog. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Spread the word to any Pistons fans you think would like this blog.

See you at The Palace
